Projects

Less fortunate communities of Upper Egypt have the power to take their destiny in hand and improve their lives, and PACHE is helping them to do so by working with our local partner, AUEED, to develop and enhance their capacities through education and development.

  PACHE collects donations from individuals, private and public organizations through fundraising campaigns and social and cultural activities. The revenues net of expenses are all transferred to AUEED based on specific projects were AUEED provides us with adequate guarantees that the projects will be properly managed within budget and completed on time. For each project, regular progress reports versus pre-established goals and budgets are submitted by AUEED.

The generosity of our Quebec and Canadian donors have resulted in significant financial support to AUEED over the years. As a result, we have transferred more than 2,1 million $CAN to our partner AUEED over the past twenty-five years . This would not have been possible without the generous support of the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) who contributed around 790,000.00 $CAN.

How is a project planned and initiated ?

AUEED initiates all projects and presents to us a detailed description, project plan and budget for review and evaluation. The project is then proposed to our donors for financial contribution. If approved, AUEED must provides us with adequate guarantees that the projects will be properly managed within budget and completed on time.

For each project, regular progress reports versus pre-established goals and budgets are submitted by AUEED.

Supporting the education of poor children unable to pay their tuition fees in the Maragha school, Sohag.

Current and future projects

AHEED is facing important challenges, namely:

  • increasing costs of education challenging the association's ability to continue enabling the poor to receive their basic formal education;
  • some AUEED buildinds are very old and require a lot of renovation;
  • build the capacities of AUEED's staff and teachers and nefficient utilization of their personnal competencies, and
  • preserve AUEED's assets and capitalize on them.

As a result, PACHE is currently financing the education of poor children unable to pay their tuition fees in Maragha and Geheina schools, Menya. PACHE is also supporting a new initiative aimed at improving health and reducing malnutrition in 18 elementary schools in Upper Egypt.
